Dialing Codes

A telephone dialing code for alocating telephone number ranges to countries, regions, areas and exchanges and to non fixed telephone networks such as mobile phone networks. A typical dialed telepone number comprises digits that don’t always need to be dialed (codes) and digits that must always be dialed (the local number).

Structure – This is the access code, international or national. Only needed when dialing international and national (non-local domestic) calls.

Country Code – Only needed when dialing to phones in other countries.

Area Code – Only needed when dialing from outside the code area, and from mobile phones.

Local Number – Must always be dialled.
